Supermarket Snooping
Confused by the information on food packaging? Want to know what to choose at the supermarket? Looking for tips to quickly find the right information on labels? Then Supermarket Snooping is for you!
Supermarket Snooping can help you make sense of food labelling and provide information about healthy food choices where you make the majority of your food choices - in the supermarket. Supermarket Snooping is open to anyone who wants to learn more about healthy eating, not just people with diabetes. However, throughout the year we do run tours on topics that have a specific relevance to people with diabetes.
Supermarket Snooping can equip you with more information about the core components of food and improve your knowledge of energy, total fat, saturated fat, sugars, total carbohydrate, fibre & sodium content. A variety of topics are offered throughout the year including: Healthy snacks and lunchboxes, Counting Carbohydrates, Trimming the Fat and Eating & Entertaining in the Festive Season.
A qualified dietitian leads our Supermarket Snooping sessions which last approximately 1½ - 2 hours, and have a maximum of 10 people participating. You can ask questions about your favourite food items and find healthier alternatives on the supermarket shelves.
