What is an Access Point?

Diabetes Australia has established a network of state-based Agents to assist in the delivery of the NDSS.

An Agent may appoint Access Points to perform a number of functions and responsibilities under the Scheme. Agents and Access Points play an important role in the success of the NDSS.

Access Points are appointed by Agents to perform certain functions in relation to the Scheme. Most significantly, Access Points are where Registrants buy their NDSS products. There are approximately 1,700 Access Points delivering the NDSS across Australia.

An Agent may appoint any of the following bodies to become an NDSS Access Point:

A significant majority of the NDSS Access Points are pharmacies.
